Welcome to Switzerland! In this program, students will enjoy the scenic beauty of the mountain village of Btterkinden before heading off to Bern to visit some of the capital city's most famous sites: the bear pits, the Swiss National Bank, the Federal Palace and the Kunstmuseum, among others. Throughout the program, students will learn some of the cultural traditions, history, climate and politics of Switzerland, including how Bern got its name as the result of a hunting trip! Before the journey ends, students will watch the moving chime show at Bern's renowned clock tower, marvel at the highly ornamented gate at Bern Cathedral and sample some delicious cheese fondue. Hold onto your book bags and prepare to take a whirlwind trip to some French-speaking countries of the world! Students will quickly relate to the young tour guide who will provide them with a quick snapshot regarding the geography of each country. They will learn about the country's history, political system, currency, language, religion and climate, as well as visit a few of the most famous sites and sample delicious foods.
