See how the Day of the Dead is celebrated in the city of Tlaxcala in Mexico. The program follows a student as he gathers material to write a report for school. Antonio goes to the mercado popular to see what people are buying for the celebration, a Casa de Cultura to see how cultural traditions are being preserved and to private homes to see the ofrendas. In the local cemetery, he sees families cleaning and decorating the graves, and spends an evening visiting ofrendas. Each program includes a teacher packet with a glossary of terms and teaching ideas. Available in two forms:
Volume 2 has the same introduction but the story is told the first time in past tense Spanish with text on the screen. The preterite verbs are highlighted in orange and the imperfect verbs in green. Then the story runs again without text so students can focus on their listening skills.
