Acclaimed Spanish artist Francisco de Goya is brought to life in this charming story. At 73, Goya abandons the royal court. Painting alone at his country villa, he finds that his housekeeper's daughter, Rosarita, has a talent for drawing. They become friends and Goya teaches her how to "see" as an artist. Rosarita witnesses the creation of Goya's masterpiece, The Black Paintings, and helps foil the Inquisition's attempt to suppress the creation.
A wonderfully reenacted story geared for the middle or high school student.
