This wonderful series presents a variety of reading selections to help students develop basic comprehension skills. In Volume I the exercises range from short readings with fill-in-the-blank questions to more complex paragraphs followed by comprehension questions requiring answers in complete sentences. In Volume II students match synonymous sentences in sequence. The author has intentionally added uncommon words and situations to increase vocabulary. These books can also be used for journal or writing prompts. Great for first or second year beginners.
